(2-minute read)   As someone with ADHD, I know all too well how living with irregular attention can feel overwhelming, especially when everyday, seemingly simple tasks feel impossible to manage. The constant cycle of distractions, missed deadlines, and anxiety has left me feeling stuck, frustrated, + exhausted…with zero bandwidth for pursuing the things I really want to do, like cooking a healthy meal, pursuing the dream of writing a book, or tackling that homework project with my kid.  When there’s just too many steps in a task, I often give up. And then I feel like crap.  How about you?

As a therapist specializing in ADHD and anxiety, I understand the unique challenges you face. My ADHD coaching sessions are designed to help you build practical strategies tailored to your needs. Whether it’s improving time management, developing routines, or finding ways to reduce anxiety, we’ll work together to create a personalized plan that fits your life.

In our sessions, you’ll learn techniques to enhance focus, manage stress, and build self-compassion. We’ll tackle the root causes of your challenges, providing you with the skills and confidence to thrive.

Here’s one of my favorite techniques. It helped me complete my PhD:

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that uses a kitchen timer or an app (there’s lots to choose from: Pomodor, Marinara Timer, Forest, Session…) to break work into intervals, typically 25-minutes in length, separated by 5-minute breaks.  Working in chunks of time is super effective for folks with ADHD. Working for 25-minutes feels less overwhelming and more achievable, right? 25-minutes creates a sense of urgency: we often work best during right before something is due.  We struggle with mental fatigue, so that 5-minute break offers a moment to recharge by shifting attention to something else. And 25-minutes of deep work also builds structure, routine, and self-awareness.  After a few cycles of 25-minutes on, 5-minutes off, we actually have something to show for our effort, even if it’s just a few paragraphs in that research paper or a tidier kitchen. That feels good!

Imagine feeling more in control, more focused, and less overwhelmed. It’s possible, and I’m here to help you get there. Book an appointment today and take the first step toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. Together, we can create lasting change.
